Busy Bee

Special Ability — The Buzzing Investigator

Each night, choose one player to investigate. You learn that player’s exact role.

However, if the investigated player belongs to an opposing alignment, they learn:

  • that Busy Bee visited them

  • and that the visitor was Busy Bee

The truth cuts both ways.

Passive Ability — Fragile Truth

The truth is dangerous in the Amber Plains.

  • If Busy Bee directly reveals the exact role of a player they investigated, they immediately die.

  • If Busy Bee publicly initiates a nomination against a player they investigated, they immediately die.

  • If Busy Bee is banished by vote, the player who nominated them is stung and dies as well.

Busy Bee may still:

  • Vote normally

  • Defend themselves

  • Agree with suspicions raised by others

  • Bluff or lie about their own identity

  • Subtly guide discussion without directly exposing investigated roles

Game Impact & Strategic Tips

Busy Bee is an extremely high-risk investigative Specialist built around subtle social influence instead of direct exposure.

The role creates a dangerous balancing act:

  • gain valuable information

  • avoid exposing it too openly

  • survive the attention of the people you uncover

Because opposing-alignment players learn Busy Bee’s identity when investigated, every successful investigation places Busy Bee in immediate danger. Ravagers and hostile factions can quickly coordinate to eliminate them before the information spreads socially.

This forces Busy Bee players to think politically:

  • Who is worth investigating?

  • When is silence more valuable than certainty?

  • How can suspicion be redirected without exposing yourself?

Busy Bee performs best in groups where:

  • social deduction matters heavily

  • indirect communication is rewarded

  • paranoia and manipulation shape discussion

The role becomes especially powerful when paired with strong speakers who can unknowingly carry Busy Bee’s suspicions into the public conversation.

Backstory & Lore

The Eastern Amber Plains are filled with whispers. Merchants trade secrets more often than coin, and information travels faster than the wind itself. Among the hidden observers of the region, none are more feared or respected than the Busy Bees.

Busy Bees are investigators trained in the ancient art of listening without speaking. Through enchanted bee familiars and arcane tracing magic, they uncover hidden truths buried beneath lies, corruption, and political deception. Their order believes knowledge is sacred — and dangerous when wielded carelessly.

But truth leaves traces.

The enchanted bee familiars used by the order carry a faint magical signature that hostile forces can sense when discovered. Ravagers speak of hearing the hum before death arrives. Shadow Council operatives know that if the golden bee appears near them, someone has begun unraveling their secrets.

Because of this, Busy Bees live short and dangerous lives. Every investigation risks exposure. Every truth uncovered paints a target on their back. Yet they continue their work, believing Leão cannot survive without those willing to seek truth from the shadows.

When a Busy Bee falls, their familiar delivers one final sting — a reminder that truth always leaves a mark.
